Your best next step:
write your first draft!
You are ready. You know what you’re trying to say, who your protagonist is, and what’s going to happen in this story.
(It’s possible that you still have some gaps in these things, and that’s okay. I’ll send you some tools over the next few days that will help you shore them up if needed.)
Perhaps you’ve already started writing. That’s fabulous! Keep going.
The tools I want to offer you center more around accountability and mindset.
Why?
Because writing a first draft is hard.
It can be really tempting to quit at times.
And I don’t want you to quit. Your story matters.
I’ve created a quick and easy guide to scheduling writing sessions and holding yourself accountable for showing up to them.
I’ve also got a worksheet for when your mindset goes a little sideways and your inner critic or procrastination demon show up. Grab it now and save it for when you need it!
Finally, I’d like to suggest some episodes from my Let’s Write Your Novel podcast (ended in early 2023). Each episode is a tiny morsel, less than 10 minutes.
Ep 18 What Are You Telling Yourself?
Ep 25 Build Your Support System
And here are a couple of helpful episodes from my YouTube channel, How To Write a Novel (as of early 2023).
Ready, set, go. You’ve got this.
